Intellident supplier solutions
As the library market has grown, individual libraries now expect their books and audio/visual material to be shelf-ready, which includes having RFID tags placed in the items, over printed (where relevant) and programmed.
With no real standards in place for how information is stored on an RFID library tag (
see standards section), library suppliers have, until now, found it difficult to pre-tag stock given the wide range of data format in use. In line with our commitment to interoperability and open standards, Intellident has developed the supplier solution programme in conjunction with the UK's leading library suppliers.
The programme provides library suppliers with high-volume programming equipment, capable of over-printing tags with logos, barcodes and human-readable information, whilst also writing the data to the tag and applying security if required. Importantly, the solution is capable of writing to all types of self-service tags - not just those provided with the Intellident self-service solution.

The provision of a high volume, efficient and cost effective solution enables library suppliers to process significant volumes of new material for delivery to libraries in a shelf-ready state with minimal additional servicing charges.
