One of the world’s largest monuments embraces 21st century technology with the implementation of a complete RFID self-service system from Intellident.

Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco is, after Mecca, the largest religious monument in the world. Built between 1986 and 1993 for the 60th birthday of former Moroccan King Hassan II, the building features the tallest minaret in the world, at 210 meters, which is visible day and night for miles around.

The Hassan II Mosque library offers a range modern information services, including several reading rooms, a photographic library and a library for the blind. Significantly, it is also the largest African library to-date to have implemented an RFID system.

Intellident were delighted to be selected for the project, which featured the provision of over 200,000 RFID tags, seven smartServe Lite™ self-service kiosks, smartInventory™ mobile handheld readers, 20 smartStation™ staff readers and a bank of 4 smartGate™ exit security gates. The project was controlled from beginning to end via the Paris-based Intellident France team.
