Intellident’s child friendly DDA compliant kiosk has proved a huge success, following its launch in July 2008. In line with UK Government regulations, the updated smartServe design ensures the kiosks provide access to all self-service functions, for all users.

The new model enables all users to interact with the self-service touch screen areas, coin mechanism, card readers and receipt printer. Offering safe and comfortable access to able bodied users, wheelchair users, children and, in line with DDA requirements, the smartServe kiosks allow instant access to information and services on an equal basis.

The strong interest in the smartServe self-service kiosks can be attributed to the modern and unique design. Physically, smartServe has been created with ease of use being of paramount importance. The kiosks encompass a completely contemporary shell, including a slightly tilted touch screen, which reduces screen glare and a low desktop style reading area, along with the user-friendly and fully customisable software. Intellident’s creative team worked to ensure the interface is fully DDA accessible; all text on screen is clearly visible, located at the bottom of the screen and is a good contrast for the visually impaired.

At the time of writing, Intellident have installed over 250 smartServe kiosks, with a further 150 scheduled to be implemented before Christmas 2008.
